CASA MAGAZINE COLLAGES
Created mini collage compositions to be used as spot illustrations for a presentation meant to show the impact that the magazine shop has had on the publishing community in keeping creative platforms alive. These are supporting images to tell of the owner of CASA Magazines in partnership with Happy David, a Filipina who moved to NYC a few years ago dedicated to grow these small local businesses in the area.
The idea was to make the vibe very magazine-like, with a very print editorial aesthetic at its core. I used collage materials to bring focus to the images, and print into the spotlight. I used polaroids, pen scratches, pencil notes for image captions, a lot of masking tapes and the iconic yellow highlighter to tie them all together.
Seeing the final output by Sean Eidder, with the collages integrated in a zine-like layout made for a very unique presentation. Grateful to have contributed a small part for the presentation spearheaded by Andrea Ang. Also posted on Instagram
